Don't throw cats in bins. It's naughty.

No it really was easy. Once you get the catch and little roof supports off the wood tim is only held on with panel pins, the hard bit was finding a matching veneer.
This is the best Blue Peter bit - the sun visors were so badly stained I was thinking of chucking them, but three coats of B&Q satin emulsion later they look like new:D

I promise the wardrobe never suffered in my hands - it was dead when I got it[8)]

Spent most of the weekend constructing a new wooden fascia using more of the wardrobe (sorry Tim:I) Lots of trial fitting and fettling but glove box and centre flap are in and actually hinge up and down:) I made a slight alteration (it would be rude not to:)) and incorporated speaker grilles at either end, loads of faffing to get then to sit right - that old Murphy radio cassette with have something to drive at last;)
One thing I'm short of is a handle for the glove box, I'll probably nick one off the roof centre beam, the rear comes down and locks without having to pull it anyway. No pics sorry but there'll be lots when its finished:p

I was thinking of mounting a couple of big ones underneath, full volume and voila - a hovercraft, that Murphy can pump out some serious wattage:)

The old wardrobe never thought it was bound for here:)
I even found the original handle I saved off the old glove box flap all those years ago

I made some speaker grilles up out of fine mesh, sprayed them satin black and mounted them either end.
It wasn't The Bishop that first came out of the speakers - it was Santana, Black Magic Woman[8D] The old CD player I had stashed still had CD inside and it burst into life when the power was switched on. The player does look rather out of place so I've made a false front out of the Murphy for demonstration purpose:)
