Back of the garage

Disaster[xx(][V]
Harvey was about to earn his keep as a removal van to move my daughter into her new flat, I got 50 yards up the road and the oil light came on. After topping the oil level up I started the engine and looked underneath - oil was literally pouring out of the engine. Haven't had a chance to check properly but it's coming from the front of the engine high up, maybe head or block has cracked big time[V][V][xx(][B)] Maybe just head gasket.

Oh no what a nightmare.[:0] Hope its only something simple. Maybe the side cover gasket or the filter fitting or something. I am sure you will have Harvey all fixed in no time.

A commer down under - or down under a commer?

Spent the day moving my daughter into the flat - it takes a lot longer shifting stuff in a Focus:I and I'm knackered[xx(] Early start on Harvey tomorrow to see what the problem is.

Thanks guys. Thinking about it Harvey has been a bit fond of oil lately and up to now there hasn't been any external leaks, maybe it's been leaking into No1 cylinder and the head gasket has failed completely in that area - here's hoping :I

Even though I'm not going, I'll be gutted if your Harvey doesn't make it to Commerfest, what with all the hard work you've put in. Let this be your finest hour; never in our history have so many Commerfans relied on so few, i.e. you, to get this fixed (that's as good as my motivational speeches get!).

If the cylinder is leaking, surely you'd have a wet plug and/or oil smoke from the engine?? Might be worth degreasing the entire engine so it's nice and clean, top up with oil, then take a good look at the engine when it's running to check for where the leak is coming from. GOOD LUCK! :)

He'll be there there's no doubt[^]
Hi Adam, I won't need to clean the engine to find the leak, all I need to do is take the thermostat housing off and give the engine a quick run, the oil is squirting out from somewhere in that area - you wouldn't believe it, so much in fact the oil pressure drops enough to bring the warning light on:I
