[V][V][V]not a good day[V][V][V]
I started off sorting out the handbrake cable, the near side was very close to the new exhaust - easy fix just drill another hole in the bracket and now it's well clear.

It started to go down hill after that. I was worried that the clutch had stuck on the flywheel after so long sitting there so I decided to get the engine running and make sure everything was OK - first bleed the clutch as there didn't seem to be a lot of movement at the gearbox end. Easy job[xx(] I connected up my Easybleed and attached the pressure hose onto the front wheel (after letting most of the pressure out first)A jet of fluid shot up and hit the windscreen and dribbled down onto my freshly painted floor[V]. After mopping up I binned the old Easybleed (it was about 25 years old) and headed to Halfrauds for a new one. OK start again this time connect it up with out filling it with fluid another jet of fluid hit the windscreen - there was a pin hole in the top of the reservoir that I didn't see. Once repaired with a self-tapper I tried again, this time all was fine and the clutch travel looked OK.
Now to get the engine started

A couple of gallons of petrol and a dash of additive were gurgled into Tim's shiny new tank, the Minis battery was nicked for the occasion and connected up - hit the button.......nothing - check wires on back of button and try again.....nothing. I finally traced the problem to a bad connection on the solenoid and tried again.

Yahoooo but that spigot bearing is noisy so the gearbox will have to come off anyway[V] Apart from that it sounded nice and my plumbing looked up to the task with no leaks and the temp gauge mid way between cold and normal. Then I spotted a little pool of water by No2 plug, I dabbed it away but it came back - it was dribbling down from the plug recess, looks like I've got a cracked head or it has corroded through the waterway[V][V]
Anyone got an ally head they want to part with.
