Hi Mark, the surround and heater box was rotted out so I repaired the 'nose' and heater box. The heater is back in and working but the flap and mechanism for opening it is beyond hope so I decided to blank it off - I'll settle for a recirculating heater for a while - if I need any fresh air then I'll open the window:I The small grille will be replaced to finish the front off and look original.

Thanks Martin - the new rubbers are great. The originals aren't as bad as I thought but the new ones are nice and pliable and once you get the knack are a doddle to fit. I did manage to put the glass in upside down though - the Triplex stamp is the wrong way up but I wasn't going to take it out again[8)]

Sainsburys do a champagne type merlot though...it's abfab, gotta be cold though..

panky I am well into red wine and the thought repulsed me but it really is lovely[8D]



 
No , don't knock it til you try it (good philosophy) trust me it's ace! if I see a bottle I will get it and enforce it upon yee at Martins...I'm sure he will let me use his fridge....for a price[}:)]:D



 
Looking very good Panky. With the Danish oil, what's the technique? Just rub on rub off, or is there any prep work? I'm thinking I should do the same to my interior to keep it looking fresh.
