Back of the garage

I've spent the last two days, (on and off,) reading this thread and you sir, are a legend. Anyone who is prepared to put that much work into a vehicle after it sitting forlorn for 10 years deserves a medal. The end is near for you now and I'm sure everyone will celebrate when you get that green ticket from the inspector.

I love all 4 wheeled vehicles, irrespective of age, (apart from Mondeos and Focus').

In my own lunchtime:I Thank you Brad I'm touched (everyone knows that:)) I just plod along and try and sort things out as they come up - no real plan just brute force and ignorance. If you really want to see skill and determination check out Martin Maltas's thread on the detector van - now that is something else - and woolfy's never ending production line of superb resto's[^].
We spent all morning in the garden and I was a touch knackered and I was thinking of slacking off today until I saw your reply, it gave me a boost - thanks:D

More paint filled the atmosphere in the BOTG today - and some of it stuck on Harvey - a bit too much here and there:I
The results so far.

The passenger door not so lucky and remains in the gloom, it's the only panel I've not managed to get a run on, but I noticed after I'd packed up that I'd missed a but right at the bottom[V]

At work (again!) so can't see the pics 'till tonight. Pretty sure I'll return Peggy to her original burgundy/maroon/plum or whatever it's called when the time comes. Madge is the same colour and needs new paint so maybe I'll get a large batch made up to cut costs - anyone know the shelf-life of paint once it's been mixed?

Peggy's been camping!

If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?

Thanks Baz - and all :I
Today has been spend painting the cab floor and wheel arches with brilliant white and inside of back doors with a lovely creamy Rootes colour[^] While I was waiting between coats the rear door cupboards got some attention with a bit of rubbing down and a dash of Danish oil. Even if I say so my self they look great[^] Surprising after the water damage they suffered[V]
The inside of the cab doors will get the same treatment soon:p

10/10 for colour, 11/10 for effort. This is what we've all being waiting for. Not long now until she emerges from the BOTG and we can see her in all her glory.

Only had a few hours on Harvey this weekend but a few more jobs off the list. First I fitted the rear windows with the seals I got from Martin. Never done it before so the first one took four attempts and over an hour, the second went in in ten minutes using the washing up liquid and string technique.

The door handle and rear lights were fitted, I had a problem with one light cluster as one of the fixing studs snapped off when I was taking them out and my spare had a cracked lens[V] I had to strip them both down to make one good one - those little studs holding the lens on rust nicely and it can be awkward to undo the nuts.

I painted the inside of the rear doors last week with a Talbot commercial creamy white, pretty close to the original but creamier:p The cupboards went in next once the second coat of Danish oil had dried.

I also painted the cab floor with a brush, better than it was but not the best
