I've been hard at work as well - trouble is mostly on my daughters Punto[V] When I was sorting out the front wing I noticed that the front tyre was a bit low on tread- so off to Tyreworld. Whats that funny squeaking noise, a swift examination revealed a noisy alternator so off to the alternator shop. That wing I sprayed looks absolute crap - so off to the paint shop. These foreign holidays are so expensive - even if you stay at home while the daughter goes off to Gozo:I
Managed a few hours over the last couple of days on Harvey and fettled the exhaust that had mysteriously moved over 4 inches and seemed to grow 6. Much cutting and adjusting later it now fits snugly underneath and has a new bracket welded onto a chassis rail for the rubber doughnut hanger. I had a bash at wiring the overdrive in but can't for the life of me get it working on the switch. I've by-passed the inhibitor switch and still nowt - if wired direct to the battery then the solenoid clicks in and out like a guddun - but not on the switch[V] Hey ho I'll have another go tomorrow it's probably the 6RA relay so I might just wire it direct for now.

exhausts seem to have a sneaky habit of doing that [xx(]
the j4 o/d is wired direct, so i wouldn,t worry to much ;)

I thought it was getting excited about something - shifting position like that:I Not too worried about the OD just a bit peeved that it didn't work out as I hoped.
BMM I know you had trouble with your OD but sorted it out - was that just with a new (old) relay.

The new style hanger, not pretty but it works

Re-fitted the wiper mechanism but hit a little snag, the re-built peak was too close to the wiper spindle so the panel had to be 'relieved' with a 2lb ball pein hammer [}:)]
I'll go over the seams with seam sealer before the paint goes on.

Sorted out the overdrive by wiring it direct but still thro' the inhibitor switch, I utilised the redundant fan switch for now - cos there ain't no heater in at the mo'

OD off

OD on
Scuse the state of the dash - haven't got round to cleaning that up yet[8)]

A pic of the lekky pump - just cos I'm dead proud of it [^]

Had a marathon clear out - I was fed up of tripping over rubbish, sorry, useful bits and pieces, cluttering up everything. Harvey's not been this tidy for a long time[8)]

Guess what I asked for on Fathers Day:)

We had tea and toast in Harvey today :p- the first time the grill and burners had been lit for over 10 years (I had to test it sometime:I)

How cool is this - Harvey's curtains get a wash:D

wow :p excellent, looks almost habitable in there now :)
no more water leaks [?]

Thanks chaps, it whistles very well - I did find some evidence of rodent habitation[:(!] In the one of the two small drawers under the cooker I found a couple of 8 track cartridges, on one of them (Status Quo no less)the tape looked like it had been snagged on something and was pulled out of the cartridge. When I opened the bottom drawer I found out what had snagged it - the entire contents of the cartridge had been incorporated in a massive mouses nest - along with a carrier bag, couldn't have been very comfy[V]. That mouse must have been pulling tape out for days[:0]. Under the sink there was similar evidence - a chewed up kitchen roll, a tube of toothpaste chewed into and a tea cosy had been used as a mouse cosy - ironically the pattern on the tea cosy was cats, the little blighters have even made a hole in the waste pipe from the sink - I think I'd better check the wiring :I
