The seller has replied but so far is saying sorry but sold it in good faith[V] I've replied [}:)]
I was hoping to be able to return the pump to original if required - the casing is like new - but once I've proven the EWC works then expect a package :)

Bad luck Panky. Dont get disheartened, I think most mods dont work 1st time every time.:( But theyre usually worth it in the end

Cheers

I'm still going the EWC route - one of the Davies Craig official agents has already offered me a generous discount so, as soon as I get a rebate off ebay, I'll get a new one:p

Well the 'blitz' has started:)
I ordered a new EWP from MAW Products on Thursday afternoon and it arrived 9 o'clock Friday morning - I was impressed[^] this morning was the first day of my holiday so I had a well deserved (well I thought so) lay in - not because I had had a drink or two or anything like that - I was relaxing :I I had to gather a few bits and pieces to sort out a grotty wing on my daughters Punto so didn't get started on Harvey 'til after lunch and with a clean pair of overalls I set to replacing the leaking water pump. I'd already done most of the 'hard' work so all I had to do was bolt on the inlet and outlet connections and drop it in. Before I took the leaking pump off I let it run for 10 minutes without the thermostat to really get any sediment churned up and dropped the water before it could settle again. This was repeated a couple of times and the system looks pretty clean now - pump was still leaking tho' [V] With the new pump in the temporary connections to the battery were made again and the new pump sprang into life it sounded a bit different and the flow seemed even more impressive - and no leaks [8D] so put thermostat back in an wired it in properly so it comes on with the ignition - whizzes away a treat when you turn the key but for some reason the lekky fan wouldn't work[V] but soon traced this to a bad earth. It looks like the old Kenlowe temperature controller has bitten the dust as now amount of turning the temp setting dial will coax the fan into life - but it will run on the by-pass switch. I think I might plumb in a Mini fan switch to operate it.
Finished off the day by fitting a new brake cylinder and copper brake pipe to the front off side - will do the rear tomorrow and have a look at the brake and clutch master cylinders. Not much of a blitz I know - more of a mini firework display but I've got all week :)

Steady progress in spite of dashing between vehicles, my daughter is away on holiday so I thought I would surprise her by seeing to the scabby front wing on her Punto. Isn't Italian steel strange - it seems to have de-laminated in places around the wheel arch and the rust looks like it has started inside the panel:I It's a shame really we know the cars history from new and this wing was replaced by Fiat after a ding when the car was only a couple of months old - it's the only rusty bit on the car and it's a '98 [:0]
Anyway back to Harvey, fitted the last of the new wheel cylinders to the rear offside without too much trouble and renewed the brake pipe from the Tee piece to the hub, while I was grovelling about I noticed my JP40 exhaust system seems to have moved position - the bracket I made is no where near the hanger on the silencer:I I'm guessing I tightened the twin down pipe connection in a slightly different position and the error has magnified itself along the length of the system[V] Oh well something else to fix. Next took the brake and clutch master cylinders off expecting them to be seized solid after 12 years idle - but no they were free and came apart easily[^] The bores are perfect so will fit new seal kits and rebuild them. I did get a clutch cylinder kit off ebay but it bares no resemblance to what is actually there, got it ages ago with the rear cylinders at a bargain price so can't complain.
Tomorrow - after finishing the Punto - I'm going to wire in the overdrive and sort out the exhaust mis-alignment and see how much time is left for anything else.
