My ex boss rang me a while ago (he's into tractors) and was saying that a friend of his had given him a pile of classic car mags - one of which was the CV&P in question. I did ask him if he wanted me to autograph the article for him but he declined - it was already in the recycle bin:I

Oh no, was gutted to see he didn't get started up.. Poor old Harvey, so close now though, do you reckon we will all get to meet him by the end of the year Panky!!! :D

Our exhaust has been on hold as the Fiat bit needed ordering in, it arrived today but unfortunately its diameter (48mm) differs from the Seat (50mm) bit :(

I've already got the tricky custom bit to mate the standard 35mm pipe up to the 50mm Seat, so I now get a reducer to mate the Seat to the Fiat. This will mean one extra clamp though but I need to fit it all this weekend and don't have the time unfortunately to seek another 50mm alternative to the Fiat pipe. It won't be the most elegant solution but it's still bound to be better than standard [8D]

K&N RU-1820 on order and arriving this week, big tune up planned for Sunday. We need to be up and running next week as off to Paul Weller in Thetford forest on Friday and then Cambridge Strawberry Fair on Saturday.

K&N RU-1820 arrived today [8D][8D][8D] The person in the shop remarked how small it was (the filter !),

It's a real shame I'm now away until Saturday and can't get stuck in with the exhaust, filter and tune up :( Bring it on !!!

One more question, when clamping exhausts together should I be using any sealant too are just the clamps adequate ?

There is a difference in pipe diameters on the ones I used but the chopping and changing I did meant they went together fine - I'll try and draw out what I did and post it on here.

I didn't use any sealant but I haven't had the engine running to check for leaks so can't really comment - but it went together so neatly I'd be surprise :I

Thanks Panky but no probs if not. Once I get my thinking cap on and the time to get my hands dirty it will make more sense - I had another quick look lunchtime and might not need the additional reducer.

Apologies for the crude drawing - my draftsmanship is as bad as my welding:I but I hope it helps.



The clamp piece chopped off the oval silencer and re-positioned on the round one fits over the stub end it left behind perfectly.

As it happened the core plug was an easy job - a bit awkward but accessible from underneath.
Used a big screwy to puncture the old plug but it was a bit bendy to prize the plug out so I used this special tool and - plop:)



Special tool #2 for the fitting of new plug.



A bit of sealant after cleaning the hole in the block an bish - bash - bosh



Done[^] Filled up the radiator and checked for more leaks and.........water pump is leaking[V]

While I was about I cleaned up my spare dizzy and fitted that - still haven't found the wires that connect to it yet though :I
