The cause of the crease in the drivers door was a lack of a check strap when the wind caught the door 
I managed to find one of the straps and cleaned it up but the other one had disappeared into that great workshop black hole that my dip[ping rear view mirror probably fell into as well
So I made one
I simplified the chassis end and found that a Morris Minor tie bar bush was a perfect replacement for the fibrous washer thing that fell to bits when removed
Still need to fit the bracket to the new inner step to see if the new check strap works

I managed to get the windscreen out without damaging it or the seal. I only fitted it a few years ago, with help from Bernie, but rust is creeing back into the corners of the frame so out it came. Harvey's paint is knackered so it's going to be a complete glass out bare metal paint job. The paint would look great for a while but always eventually reacted to what was put on before we got him so no more messing about he's going to get naked
Wow John I thought it was only last year we put the screen in Harvey. How time flyes, I will pop round sometime soon to have a noisy
Wow - big job! Did the front of mine a couple of years ago and went with cellulose as thought that was what was on the rest, should’ve gone two pack really and a bugger to keep shiny. Will redo it again next year.

He's got more paint stripper down the sides covered in plastic sheet to give the chemical time to penetrate over night. A right messy job

I've also had the side window out, on these the sliding glass runs in a plastic channel set in the aluminium frame. The plastic channel had warped so the windows wouldn't slide and I couldn't find new stuff anywhere - been like this pretty much since we had him. Once the frame was out (loads of screws and a bit of prising) the glass is removed easily and the plastic channel hooked out. I then pushed it onto a length of flat bar, clamped it in place with a length of wood and attacked it with a heat gun, much to my relief the channel re-formed itself and fitted perfectly back in the frame. We now have working sliding windows and they look very nice too after a good polish

Your original repairs are looking good under that paint. I'm sure Harvey will look resplendent again.
