One for Paul, the inner step goes all the way back to here

Outer step held in place with nuts and bolts for final positioning before welding up

Just a wee bit of floor edge to replace

My camera died before I could get a pic after the welding but it looks the same only welded:I

This is the next bit requiring some fettling[xx(]

I've made the wheel arch repair a bit to short - it should go back up to the jacking point, I saw that in the Commer factory shot on the Dunstable video posted on the Halloween thread:) Just need to work out how it joins everything else:I

It doesn't need to be a faithful copy of the original - a channel section small enough to fit inside the outer step would do the job. I'm sure I've seen a picture of someone doing just that before the panels were available - I'll have a mooch.

I think I must have been dreaming:I
I use Martin's Detector van thread a lot for reference, there was so little left the bare bones were exposed and you can see how virtually everything goes together.

yh i have been reading through that as well lol. i dont think it will be to hard to make it up. bit of trial and error will see it done i think. im not intending on doing all the welding to quiuck as i dont want to rush it. im hoping i can do whats needed, get her throught an mot them carry on working on her. i just want her mot'd asap so that if we move i can drive her where she needs to go :) but i might get carried away n get it all done pronto lol

Had a good day on Bonnie today:) After a couple of weeks of rain and freezing weather it was actually quite mild so stuck in I got.
The last bit of inner cill behind the rear jacking point was an absolute pain to get out and I ended up having to chop part of the jacking point off to get to it[V] The new section of cill went in easily and fitted snugly up to the ends of the outriggers so welding it in went well and I actually did some decent runs:)
I had made the front wheel arch repair a little to short (I noticed what it was supposed to look like on the Commer factory sequence on the old Dunstable vid Thowman posted)so an extra bit was formed and fitted. Next I turned my attention to the end of the 'B' post, where it meets the step, I chopped the end off as it was full of holes but now nice new metal resides where rot once was[^]
Your going to kill me but I was that busy trying to get done before it got dark that I forgot to take any pics but if the weather holds up I'll be out there again tomorrow and the camera will be clicking frantically - soz[8)]

Has it really been two months since I did anything on Bonnie - sorry chuck:I
No excuses today, it was dry and sunny and I've almost got over a nasty chest bug so on with the overalls and fire up the angle grinder[}:)]
The front valance was the next job, plenty of bubbling and loose filler around[xx(]

Bonnie really has been off the road for too long, the wildlife is taking up residence:I

2013-02-18120528.jpg

Once what was left of the valance was off the extent of repairs could be assessed. Drivers side - pretty good, plenty of surface rust but savable.

2013-02-18135534.jpg

The other side was a lot worse and most of the inner panel will need fabbing.

2013-02-18135538.jpg

The bottom of the door pillar needed re-building before the valance panels are fitted.

That's all for now folks:)
