Autosleeper Gas

all good info for me
our van has been mucked about with and the fridge isn't where it should be and I want to put it all back. You chaps/chapesses with the gas bottles in the little hole behind the passenger seat, do you have the main and leisure batteries next to the gas bottle? And charge relay? is it safe?!

My gas bottle has lasted for over ten years - I think it may be out of test:I

No its not like that. Its wonderful and free. You make it yourself so its double free - free to make and free to use.
Google for solar cooker. But I just use it as a kettle
It takes about an hour to make one yourself
My 1st attempt took 8 hours to heat - in fact I was running out of daylight faster than the water was boiling[:eek:)]
But my 3rd attempt will get a 1/4 pint of water hot enough for coffee in 3 hours

All systems go in the Tulipmobile! I've got heat at the cooker and hopefully chill in the fridge - the pilot lit with no problems - this is probably the first time the fridge has been used in 25 years, so I'm a little apprehensive. I'm leaving it on overnight and have put a CO alarm in the back to alert me (if I hear it) to any combustion problems.... maybe I should have put a smoke alarm in their too; I hope she's still there in the morning!

I believe my leisure battery was added by the last owner and it is next to the gas [V]. I would much rather prefer it if it was mounted behind the driver. I'm going to build a ply partition with top and bottom seals that fits around the 4.5kg bottle (it sticks out a little). Hopefully that will add an element of safety [?][?]

Im v excited, anything like that is wicked not a sure a cuppa while your stopping for a break but a stew while your out for the day would be great. Did you make or buy yours ?
 
Yes its not for a quick brew. But its kind of fun. And attracts interest at camp sites.
I made mine launcelot - thats half the fun. From millboard and cooking foil.
Panky dont be disappointed if the first one doesnt work so well. I'm on MK3 which works much better than the first.
