The norwegian government didn't want to do anything to upset the balance with the russians, so effectively strangled the Troll-company by prohibiting sales of scale and scaring all investors off by saying that the government would never ever do anything to support the Troll car manufacturing company. The company folded in 1958.
Then again, it is not exactly the prettiest of vehicles... so not a major loss, really

Maybe not the prettiest car, but definately very cool. I'd rather be driving that to work than my boring mondeo estate. It's a shame they didn't make more. I'm rather taken by it.

Yes, the top of the wheelarches have the same shape, don't they?
Still, with a glasshouse on top which is very different, and with a 700ccm 2-cylinder two-stroke engine, it is a different solar system to the Merc. That said, the gullwing is actually 1cm taller (!) (Gullwing 130cm, Troll 129cm) [)]
