August meet

Half Day Tripper had a great time -Good to meet you all- and thanks to Martin and Karen for the hospitality. Enjoyed the communal BBQ and the company. The Bridal Suite took pride of place -Congrats to Heidi and Bernie- What a lovely idea to choose to celebrate with fellow Commervanfans!

Hope to see you all again soon - Like the sound of Dunstable -spent many happy years there in the 1970's and never saw the factory!

ps - Commercial rain -Thanks for posting the picture of Clarabel (It was good to see Ed enjoying himself!) - good to prove she made it despite blowing up another coil just 3 miles short of Commerland. (only one spare left now) Have now moved a Lucas sport coil underneath my seat-fingers crossed.

I guess I should start off with congratulations to the married couple first! We are really pleased for you

And also to Colin and Helen for seeing the light and getting a Tourstar!

Looks like you all had a good meet. We've been a bit rubbish on getting to these things this year, mainly due to the chaos we are in following the arrival of our little boy, but things have settled down now so we'll hopefully make the next one.

Glad you all had fun.

We've just got back, first to arrive last to leave[8D]
Martin and Karen did us proud, the campsite is excellent and would put many established ones to shame, nicely laid out and the facilities well beyond what you would expect on a C.L.[^] and where else would you get a demonstration of English wheeling skills (even if it did go wrong;))
The weather was brilliant with just a couple of showers to cool things down a bit, I've got me knees nicely bronzed:)
What about Mr and Mrs Boothe then, the first we knew about it was when Karen brought a letter addressed to us that had been delivered to Commerland - thanks for sharing your honeymoon with us guys:D
I was flabbergasted when I found out that Martin had actually drunk seven tins of beer over the weekend - must be the stress of running the site;)

Pleased all back safely - Weather has gone mad up here - I've just abandoned ship -got caught in a waterfall mid service -ie no points - Clarabel is inside now drying out -never seen rain like it- lane was a 6" river - water came in everywhere in the front cab- luckily still dry in the back. Might delay now until the sun shines. Take care in the weather warnings - Mike
 
It started raining on the way home - the newly weds bravely carried on with the top down on the Superminx:I Within half an hour of getting home the rain turned to a huge downpour, the main road was awash and the house gutters overflowing[:0] - nice and clear now:)
I wonder if B&H got a soaking:I

Firstly can I apologise for turning up to a Commer meeting without Gladys :(

I had our weekend in Gretna booked a long time ago and had a heavy heart [V] when that weekend was mentioned for a Commer meeting at Commerland.

We had decided to take Belinda Superminx and Brian Portafold to use as our wedding car and accommodation :D and a lovely couple they make too :)
