There was a scene in the first series that was shot right outside my flat in Shoreditch, infact It made me late for work that day as they wouldnt let me out of the place until it had been shot. It was some gay pride event and they drove a chieftan tank right over a Ford Escort. I watched the whole thing from 2 floors up.

I also watched them film the trailer for the second series one cold evening. It was on Coronet St, just at the back of Hoxton Sq and they put neon sex shop lights on buildings and turned a workshop doorway into 'the kit kat club' then filmed the car screeching down the street and they all got out and went inside the 'KKclub.' It was supposed to resemble a soho street.

It looked fantatsic and they even sprayed the street cobbles with water first, to look like it had been raining so the neon lights were reflecting in the wet!
 
I've mentioned this elsewhere but when I joined the Met in '86 there were still a lot of Gene Hunts around. They were bloody good coppers too, most of 'em. Alcoholics many of them, but still good thief-takers.

I deal with scum everyday in my job and see the same old faces day in day out and all they are given is a slap on the wrist 'dont do that again'

One night while working I got a junkie try to stab me with a syringe,earlier that day he had been nicked for shoplifting and let out! All he got was a suspended sentence. What sort of deterrent is that????

Now starting on BBC 1

Did have it down on my Sky+ box to record but it has now died this afternoon and I have lost my whole American Chopper episode collection i have been compiling!
