Here's a bit of a story for you!
Just got back from a couple of weeks in cornwall. Usually take my vw split screen van that I lived in around Austraila for 9 months but this time we took the Commer! Nearly 1000 miles in 2 weeks and it was perfect! The VW's interior was basic but functional whereas the commer was luxurious and so spacious. Commer from now on I reckon!
Anyway, we were eating dinner last friday parked in the layby on the headland in Watergate bay. All of a sudden a really slammed mk 1 golf pulled up in front of the commer and out popped the familiar face of some friends we hadn't seen for a while. They jumped in the Commer and stayed for a cheeky pear cider! They'd recently moved down to cornwall and were really digging a bit of commer luxury.
We met up again in the van a couple of days later and Fee was loving the Commer. Chatted loads and I started to get the old...am I being boring about Commers feeling!!!
Got a call today saying the deal is done and this van is what they've bought! Can I book it in next week for a service and a checkover ready for the haul back to Cornwall!
Really pleased for them. Looks like a pretty honest original van. I'm sure it's got a couple of rust issues but haven't we all!?
Guess I couldn't have been that boring and maybe I should have been a Rootes salesman!!!!
