Yep. I'm bored of the German question.
just so that if you ride with me you know what i drive!
An eventful morning for the lad... Let's call it a tale of two halves...
The bad first... A bash... My drive is on a slight incline and I tried to drive onto forward ramps... Didn't quite make it to the top in one go. Rolled back and crunched front under sill. Knocked out a piece of filler... So a job on the to do list and a touch up...
On the positive both rear jacking points are strong and able to raise van take off a wheel at a time and jet wash under the arch... Still not everything coming off but a step forward.
Two front jacking points to try this afternoon and more jet washing...

Yes. I'll buy some two part filler later... Oh well. Another lesson...
Two questions...
... I'm looked to replace the rubber seal around my pop top.
1) would you advice doing this top on or taking it off first...
2) when the rubber goes back in does the curve of the rubber tuck under the pop top or does it act as a run off towards the edge of the van...

Part one done. I reckon that was a good evening's work...
So about one quarter of the roof seal took a good two hours... Yuck... Any tips so that the rest is a bit quicker. Having to use a screw driver half centimetre at a time. And round the first corner was a real nightmare. Should I soap lubricate the space the rubber will slide into. Will that help...
Not sure what your seal is like, by the sound of it it's not a simple push on type like the Auto-Sleeper. Wont do any harm to use a bit of lube on your rubber if it's a tight squeeze (oo er missus) Try a bit of washing up liquid or Swarfega, something that will wash away easily.
And plenty of perseverance!
Thanks Martin - I got neck ache and plenty of rust filled swear words last night in the cold and dark... I struggled getting the rubber round the corner, but will cut the inside edge to make space for the rubber in the curve, and I'll try with a bar of soap to ease it in...
...I guess if needed I'll take the roof off and do it in the warm too!

It doesn't help in the cold, the rubber is a lot more supple in the warmth. I've never taken a Maidstone roof off, so don't know how much of a job that is.
