Anyone remember me?

Greetings Commerfans.
I havent visited the board for probably a couple of years or more. Shame on me.
I had a minor mid-life crisis, I think I'm over it. Partly by splitting the business in two and selling the workshop half so now I work from home. Shame I didnt get the van restored before I did that...
Hope everyone is doing well.
Jules

Great to hear from you Jules - split seems to make sense to me; I know Just Kampers offered parts and service years ago and focused purely on the parts side and they seem to be doing OK!
You had a mid-life crisis? I sold my Commer :D still I have this site!

Welcome back, whoever you are. I have seen your name in my wanderings on this forum.

My midlife crisis was giving up a perfectly respectable professional career  to make Windsor Chairs in my home workshop. Never looked back!

Onward.

Hi Jules, great to hear from you and that you haven't forgotten us:) What's the plan for the Holbay beast?
Hopefully the split didn't involve you loosing you amazing camping jumper:D

No still got the camping jumper. Still got the trouble & strife (just). What I dont still have is my ace mechanic and ace bodyman as they stayed with the workshop.
I still have the camper, needs painting - and the quotes I have been getting are even more than I used to charge and my guys always did an absolete perfect job. Pretty silly of me not to have them paint it before I sold up...

Welcome back Jules. Surely they could do it for you at something close to 'mates rates' - unless the split was less than amicable?

Wish it was so, I left them with 2 years of work booked in which they're keen to do (probably to recoup what they paid me...).
However I did today manage to rebuild the carbs with my own fair hands with surprisingly satisfactory results considering how much they been mucked about in the past trying to extract more power from them.

Hello Jules yes we remember you. I now have Admins van as well,It still hasn't sunk in!nice to hear from you love to your family xxx ps the cherry bombs had to go!

Thank you. I hope you are still making fuel tanks, but maybe now some additional stuff I can buy? Anything interesting and/or shiny - we're all magpies really.

You don't happen to have one of your delicious HIF44 sub stacks laying about?:)

I can wait. You need someone to showcase your skills in the wider world of engine tuning with an application worthy of the output of Tim's workshop - namely my Mini, and I'll give you a mention on TMF;)

welcome back jules, I too took a couple of years out, but van now back on the road and grand things planned for next summer!
