Hi
I can sympathise, currently two of my clients owe me payments that are over 7 months old. I spend what feels like about 35% of my time chasing payment. I'm constantly owed so much money that if all my debtors were to pay tomorrow I would be able to afford a super car. It's been like this for my business since 2009 and it's not got any easier even though we are now seeing economic recovery. It's hangover from the recession where everyone appears to be scared to let go of money. I can give you the contact details for the solicitor I use, he specialises in contract law and meditation. Although at £250.00 an hour he isn't cheap but after he sends the initial letter (£800.00) it usually yields immediate results. How ever legal is the last desperate act as some of my clients are so flaky it is likely they would fold at the first sniff of legal action and then laugh all the way to companies house to get started again under a different banner. So mediation and pressure and basically making a nuisance of yourself is probably the best way. I sat in someones office reception for 8 hours once but I came out 20k better off.
