another Rostyle wheel thread

I was able to buy 4 rover P5 wheels and 2 extra spare rims for cheap

and ofcourse I searched this forum for posts /threads about the rostyle wheels
and I read about the spacers and the center hole for the frontwheels that needs to be widened

and I also found out that i'm able to mount the front rims when you drill the stud holes to 13 mm instead of the org. 12 mm and that the center hole needs to be 61 mm instead of the org rim hole that is 57 mm
and I can do that on a lathe my mate has ..so no problem there

but I was under the impression that you could simply mount the rearwheels after the stud holes were made to fit ,and that's not the case
the drum both front and rear have some kind of casted "lumbs" on them and they keep the rim from mounting all the way to the center of the drum /axle ...with the rim on now there's still a huge gap /space between the rim and the drum and when I look through the center hole I can see the wheel studs ...... not good !!

so I can machine of these "lumbs" but then there's still to much space between rim and drum i'm afraid ,so I think I have to space the rear wheels out too !

but overhere in the Netherlands we have the APK (dutch MOT) and they don't allow wheelspacers
so I guess I have to weld them to the drum ....so they aren't spacers any more ,but part of the drum ;)

anyone know if there's an easier option for this matter ?

Could the lumps be faced off in the lathe so the Rostyles sit flush? I suspect they are only there as somewhere to give the drum a good thump to loosen them. Could you post a pic of the drum, I've seen them hundreds of times but cant picture the face where the wheels sit.

Yer I'm looking at putting these on my Spacevan as have a couple knocking around. Bigger drums may scupper it though so gonna have a play in a week or two to see if spacers could do the job

just like martin says the drum is dished ...I could turn the lumps off on a lathe ,but then I still need spacers and langer wheelstuds
does anyone know what kind of wheelstud thread this is ? and were can I find longer ones
I have been searching on this forum but the only link I could find ..it doesn't work

my best thought is to buy or make spacers out of steel and weld them to my drums ,because the dutch APK (MOT) doesn't accept loose spacers ....spacers are not allowed imho overhere
but if they are welded on > they are not a spacer but part of the drum ;)

Howdy Mr Diablo, them Magnum style wheels sure do look mighty fine.

How about using the stock wheels in winter and for the APK?

for now first I need to tackle some other things > the oil pan is leaking because it had been laying on the subframe > not enough room between these 2 and the engine mounts are to thin and flimsy made by the previous owner who build the ford sierra 2L pinto (OHC) engine in it ...and some small jobs that need to be done before I can get it through the APK /MOT

than after that the wheels will be placed
I decided to mount (spotweld) the spacers on the wheels > so iff I want in the future I can always go back to the stock wheels

all I need now is to find out where I can buy new wheel studs because these are simply to short

I'm pretty sure they are 1/2" UNF and I think they are threaded both ends rather than splined. Demon Tweeks used to sell longer ones but I cant find them listed on their site, might be worth a phone call

thanks panky , iff they are 1/2" UNF than they are these same as Plymouth valliant /barracuda's .... I should be able to find some overhere than ...I just have to watch out that I get the right one because they use to have left and right threaded ones for the left and right of the car ;)
