Well, today is the day! 
....couldn't resist going for a final spin...
Well, I guess photo's say a thousand words...... Incredibly sad day made even worse.....'The new owner' arrived this afternoon...having bought Tigger without seeing him.....He started straight away this morning and I took him for about a ten mile run...he behaved impeccably ...I had showed the new owner as many pics as possible of the 'good' and also the 'bad' (being a nasty damp area inside the caravan above the caravan door) which was caused by the roof edging strip coming away ...which I had re-sealed last year......
Anyway the 'new owner' arrived and couldn't wait to go and play....off outside we went..I talked him through the mods and showed him around..he was gagging to start him up and have a drive....I climbed into the passenger seat and told him to fire it up....he turned the key and................................electric pump clicking away but NOTHING!!!! .I could of died of embarrassment! (why oh why did he do this to me today).....I left the 'new owner' to explore the van whilst I ran up the road to borrow some jump leads.......On my return I connected the jump leads and ....still nothing! ...Hmm? ...anyway I removed the inspection plate under passenger seat and spotted straight away that the solenoid lead was off? ..popped it back on and he fired up straight away.....(PHEW) ......
Anyways, whilst I was fetching the jump leads we didn't even need 'the new owner' had removed the mattress from the over cab bed to shockingly find it was soaking wet, and further damp had been seeping in through one of the seals ...(again I cringed with embarrassment ).....there is no way on this Earth I would of let the guy embark on such a journey without letting him know....if only I knew!!!!! ....The repair amounts to drying the mattress and a couple of hours work plus a tube of silicone to re-seal the area...but OMG! how bad do I feel?!!! ........
I threw in a few freebies that I was going to withhold and sell on at a later date......
You know what people? I have been a member here for some time now and apart from a few scuffles/niggles with one or two of you, I really value all of you and I would hate to think of the 'new owner' going away feeling really upset and let down...I would of felt as though I was letting all of you down!!!!! ........I truly value all of you here! ....I hope/think that he left here happy in the end .....I think he cheered up once he had finally had a drive ...he phoned me a short while ago to say there was no hard feelings and he was sure he had bought a good honest van ......
Panky, he doesn't live a million miles from you, he knows Widnes well ........he is from Langho, Blackburn! ....
I made some videos earlier but I'm having a job to upload them to both photo bucket and youtube....
Hopefully, when the time is right I may get another Commer....and be able to join all you lovely folk at a meet again......

It must be an incredibly sad day for you Colin and it certainly sounds like you didn't let anyone down. If you had let anyone down, you would have not only let yourself down, but also your family, but most importantly you would have let your school down - or so I seem to recall!

Well Colin all that I can say is that a person knows when he is getting too old to drive a big vehicle like tigger and it's best that you stick to driving your Fiat Uno. By the way, you'll have to get a new picture on your profile now. Now come on there Colin, you didn't expect me to say some thing serious did you after all the banter we've had. Lulu? ...........Jules yah maybe! .......Thing is Panky, everyone has these high expectations from you to keep things alive and on-going .......you have somehow become super-human??
Panky is just a man ....he has in some instances.....have superior knowledge ..(through experience of said vans) .....BUT everyone seems to rely on 'good OLD Panky' .....to be some kind of DJ ? ....and it is almost 'expected' of him to keep the decks a rolling ...........Let me enlighten you all.....he is just a man (a strange one granted) ...(with a van or 2) ......and ALL he can do is talk about his own 2 vans and offer his experiences to the rest of us.......thing is, he cannot do anything else? ................(apart from enjoy Red Wine whilst laughing at us) ....Oh, It's late! .......my point is.........how can SO MANY of you members just read and never reply? or join in? ....do you not understand the concept of a forum???????
