Looks like a bit of upol weld through primer on there?? Just be careful spraying it on areas where body filler is going to be used on the joints after welding. If the welded joint is plug welded or spot welded and not seamed it can bleed through the joint and lift the filler from underneath.

I used it on my uno turbo and sprayed it on to stop the weld rusting while I completed the rest of the metal work so I could do all the prep at once but had to paint strip the whole quarter back to metal, even though I seam welded it.

It all turned out nice in the end though;)

Thanks for the hint. Nice welder (machine envy) I only use it on in places that are not going to be visible on the basis that something is better than nothing, especially when it needs to be welded through.

I thought the same when was using it. I used it on the bed of my pick and it was fine it just doesnt like body filler, but will over paint with two pack primer. Thats my plasma cutter you can see in the pic. I replaced my sip top mig turbo (which the light is sitting on in the pic) with a porta mig,

There hand made to order in the uk, always wanted one its a pleasure to weld anything now! You can weld anything from a coke can thickness to an rsj as the adjustment is so fine. Ive had to put me a 32amp socket in the workshop though for the plasma;)

Nice tools. One day.......

Meanwhile, my favourite tool is my pneumatic joddler. Oh, how I love that tool, makes making flanges so easy. Close behind that are my lumps of copper to stop my welds going through extremely thin metal or welding up holes.:D

The join line for the humber wings are strategically placed under the trim, hopefully, now I am using aircraft metal clamps, I will manage to get the panel mated up really well, and the need for filler in this area will be minimal.although you do need a flange to make this method work.

I do like my pneumatic joggler with the hole punch for plug welds on the rear of it ;)

Engine now in freshly painted engine bay. Had trouble getting the paint, and had to match swatches and adjust in the end. At least it looks better than it was before.

Bad news is I keep discovering that I have bits missing. Right now, have discovered that the fuel filler cap is missing, and the rubber hose that connects it to the tank. Also the new gearbox mounts are puzzling, as one has a captive nut for attaching to crossmember, and the other one doesn't. I think the old boy didn't give us all the bits......
