Not that it matters too much but a pressure plate is not the same as the friction plate! The pressure plate and cover are one and the same, the friction plate is as the name suggests the plate that provides friction so you can drive along happily without clutch slip, the pressure plate/cover is depressed when you put your foot on the clutch pedal and releases the friction plate from the flywheel so you can change gear, the thrust/release bearing is on the fulcrum arm that is operated by the clutch pedal via the master and slave cylinder and slides along the gearbox shaft to activate the pressure plate/cover. Simple.
Cant understand why a man purchased a 3 piece clutch kit for his Frontera and then had to buy the release bearing seperately?? There are only 3 pieces in a clutch kit, the pressure plate/cover, friction plate and bearing, there is nothing else needed or available unless you have a modern vehicle with a dual mass flywheel fitted... and Fronteras dont.
