and now for something a little different.

Nice one Panky, i was about to say a Viva 1800 gls as the front looked very similar. A nice find Steve. Any chance we can see the finished product then?

yes will reveal the finished project but we only started it today!!!!
got a couple more little projects to do
one is a chrysler 2litre with a genuine 19000 miles, hardly needs anything to make it really nice
the other is the original avenger tiger press car that was the company car of des odell who masterminded all of chryslers competiton department and then was in charge of the world rally winning lotus sunbeams this just needs mechanically reassembling as the bodywork has been done

work has been progressing on the cricket a bit at a time. due to workshop renovations so richie doesnt freeze again this winter. the front end has been completely taken apart and virtually everything apart from the inner wings has been or is about to be replaced. the engine bay has been completely bare metaled as this is the only way to eliminate the spider legs of rust under the paint.

it took about 2 days to do the whole engine bay not as long as i feared but it is a mind numbingly boring process. tool wise i used a 6"d/a sander for the big bits a 2" d/a sander(best thing iv ever bought) for the tighter bits. a heavy duty wire wheel cup on an angle grinder for anything stubborn and a small wire drill attachment for nything really tight as well as lots of sandpaper. front end assembly will resume today so lots of welding to do.:D
