We are taking the Detector van to the PO vehicle exhibition at Amberley working museum, West Sussex on 17th April. If anyone fancies a day out, it would be nice to meet up :)
Whilst on the subject, can anyone recommend somewhere to stay [?]

ooh haven't been to Amberly in a while, I will see if I can get dad to bring Smurf along.

7 months 'til I can drive Smurf!

Amberley is only about 10 miles from me so I will certainly come and say hi, although my 'Battenburg' won't be on the road. It's a tiny village in the sticks with no B&Bs to hand, so the nearest place to stay would be somewhere like Pulborough or Arundel (and both will be very expensive).

There are a couple of B&Bs round the corner from me (which I know can offer safe parking) so I will have a wander and get some details (if you don't mind being 10 miles from the museum). I have no first hand experience of them but I have heard good things.

This will involve me having to pass perilously close to my local pub on a lovely afternoon - but is a sacrifice I'm willing to make :)[8D]

Excellent, Thanks. Don't mind the 10 mile, especially if it's north ;)

Well, the 10 miles is a bit southish really. In fact any further south and you'll get wet or need a French dictionary.

Anyway the contenders are:
http://www.hayleyscorner.co.uk - B&B run by an ex commer owner whose van was called 'Colin the khaki coloured clapped out commer camper'.
http://www.whitehorsesfelpham.co.uk - B&B famed locally for its breakfasts.
http://www.beachcroft-hotel.co.uk - Best Western hotel famed locally for being average, but I mention it cos it's there!

The tourist info guys may know of more of course, but I am aware of these because they are on my doorstep.

Hope this helps, am sending you an email too. :)

If you're feeling flush, you could stay in a Pullman Carriage like I shall be doing on my wedding night at this place -

I've been to the PO show before. There wasn't too much there (mainly Moggies), but it's a lovely working museum none the less. Might try and come along if I can spare some time for myself :)

Keep a look out today for a UFO, on the A1, M11 and M25 [:0]
