alternator pulley ?

i was driving home to pick up lady, then head off for the weekend when there was a bang from the engine bay and then the red light on the dash came on to indicate battery/alternator fault. I smiled and said (to myself) that will be the fan belt, no problem. When i looked, the pulley on the end of the alternator had broken and only half of it was left. Please tell me i can buy a replacement pulley, and i dont have to buy a whole new alternator ?? (or just tell me the rotten hard unadulterated truth ) :)

Might be worth trying you local alternator repairers/suppliers, they must have hundreds of old ones around.

When you get another pulley (which as Pank says shouldnt be difficult) make sure the belt isnt too tight as this may have been why the wheel fractured (theyre only alloy)

Cheers
