The early bird catches the worm... but the early worm gets eaten first!

Watched most of them as a kid in the 70s/early 80s. My Mum made us watch PCBH etc. Used to love Chopper Squad, can't remember much about it now except the curly haired guy was called Barry!

Hi All,

No wonder you lot have a warped idea of us lot! Can't say I ever saw anyone on those shows acting like real human beings restoring their Commer. Neighbours and Home & Away are so far from reality, not one episode shows any Commers in the drive, let alone an engine being rebuilt on the dining room table! It's all lies, I tell you!

Regarding Chopper Squad, the internal shots used to be taped in the building next door to my father's business in Artarmon NSW. I used to work for my father during school holidays being 15 or 16 at the time. Inside the building next door they used to have a cut down helicopter cabin mounted on a metal frame with springs and four long poles. During so called in-flight shots four guys would shake the poles to simulate movement in flight. One day I was standing there laughing at what was going on, when one of them turned around and said, "don't stand there laughing, their about to crash, grab a pole and give us a hand". Much shaking later they had their scene shot.

The same mob produced a show called Cop show called Bellamy. One day they came down to the workshop to borrow a steel bar, but they though it wasn't aggressive enough, so we welded some spikes on it and they headed of smiling. Fun times, but as the shows weren't successful and they eventually packed up and moved on.

Sorry to drag you off topic, but I had a flash back. Now where did I leave those tablets!

Cheers
Stephen
