Accelerator gone BAAAAAAAD

I was mucking about with the van yesterday and the accelerator linkage started to stick. Has anyone else had this problem? I think its on the "rod side" of the linkage (not the cable end).

any advice gratefully apreciated!

you could try checking to see if the spring under the cab floor is still intact, it ensures the pedal returns 'upwardly'.Otherwise check the linkage that is fitted on the side of the rad.

:D

Its bound to give you trouble!..thats what you asked for though isnt it!???

Check the one lonely entry in 'Mechanical' on the website.

I had the outer cable jump out of its fixing, causing the throttle to stick. Just popped it back in and off we went again ;)

I tracked down the culprit to the link between the cable and the rods on the side of the rad housing. It had semi-seized so I stripped it all down cleaned it up gave it a lick of paint (don't tell the wife - she'll think I'm doing restoration!) and stuck it back on and it worked - sorted!
