A Treat for Gladys

We thought we would give Gladys a treat as she has been a little neglected so she is having a SU fitted :) and get rid of the old Zenith.

I started by splitting an old Manifold

Drilled the inlet and made a plate to fill the hole in the exhaust

Welded in the Flange and Exhaust manifold.

Got an old SU from the auto jumble at Tatton Park show a couple of weeks ago.

Stripped it down and give it a good clean.

All the bits cleaned up.

Got a new seal kit from Ebay.

Manifolds all painted up.

Carb And manifold all ready to fit on Gladys Easy:D

All I need now is time to fit it all on Gladys. :confused:
 
I got a little bit more done yesterday afternoon, I drilled the inlet manifold for the servo union :)

I then fitted all onto Gladys :cool:

Just a few pipes & cables to connect and all done easy!:eek:

Snug as a bug. She will be plotting with James on what they can throw at you next year;)
 
Poor Gladys she has been neglected for the last 2 years where does time go?

Thought it was time she had a little TLC so woke her up from her slumber.

Checked the oil and water turned the key a few times and she sprung into life.

Once in the garage a quick check over and I could she has suffered a little from her neglect.

She needed a bit of welding under neath and on the cab floor

The near side sill was been pushed off with the rust and the peak was a little scabby.
