A shopping list please!

Hi Commer Van Fan Clan
I have been reading people's modifications lists with interest and I've decided to go for an RC40 and K&N

does anyone have any info on what else is required to fit the exhaust? (adaptors etc.) is it just the back box that is fitted?

Also what kind of K&N? They usually bolt on top of the carb and I presume that there ain't going to be enough room on a commer!

thanks

Rupert

rc40 is a good choice [^] available from mini spares in steel or stainless single or twin box. twin box is best as its quite quiet but still very straight through :p, needs a bit of sleeving and welding but its pretty simple to fit.
k&n list filters all shapes and sizes so work out what you can fit and they will sort something suitable :)

we have a very early k&n and a home brew exhaust and as have said in other posts getting just under 30 to the gallon and if you look at the block of flats that is charlie commer its pretty impressive!

Ay up Nath. Have you got the original Zenith still on? I didn't think there would be enough room to get a K&N in under the engine lid [:0]

RC40 is ordered )

I'll pop down to the local car parts place tomorrow and have a chat with them about the filter. I suppose re-using the extension pipe and just loosing the "sauce pan" filter housing will do the job won't it?

Yeh, it would look like one of those induction kits that every other Corsa and Saxo has got ;)

yeh burberry interior and all! dont forget the tacky screwed to the dash cup holder to hang your backwards baseball cap on! yes panky i believe we are still running the original zenith but will confirm this for you. the k&n is the old very small pancake type with the chrome top and two small bolts, all in all its about an inch and a half tall, the exhaust is standard down pipe with an unknown round box with the tail pipe exiting forwards of the rear wheel on drivers side but actually curves forward at end!:)

Sounds very similar to the original type, it the bore larger than standard.
