A sad day indeed!! 11th of the 11th

A day the Earth stood still in shock!!

I was Block paving a private estate where Maggie Thatcher lived in Dulwich S.E.London and my work colleague & I sat down to eat a Sarnie when the tragic news hit!! We must of sat by the radio for ages and my insensitive twit (mis-print) of a boss told us off, saying our company must show a proffessional side and keep working!

What wer'e you doing that horrible day???????

See' the clown also has a serious sensitive side!

I was working at Thomas Cook, and i'm sat at my desk and the monitors above our heads that normally give us information about exchange rates and flight/airport information flicked on to Sky news. To be honest, we all felt peed off that all the while these monitors had been there we could have had on M.T.V on or something HAHAHA! Then it hit home the severity of what was going on. Then the second plane hit right before our eyes, we were in disbelief as to what was going on. Oddly i felt some sort of armageddon feeling - Like the world had finally had enough of us and was reclaiming it back. Then we heard of all the other planes that were on collision courses all over the place. It just felt weird! We were all aloud to leave early that day as some of my colleagues had family working in the W.T.C. sadly it wasnt the only direct hit. Along with many others, i was made redundant as a result of those attacks. Bastards! I hope they rot! I'm sorry but i could rant about this but i know i will offend so for that reason i'm out!!!

My name is Scott, not Comm-Don!

You mean the day when Yassir Arafat died..(2004)?

Alternatively, if we're talking September and 2001, I heard the horrible news whilst sitting in my courier van just across from Waterloo station, eating my lunch sandwich and awaiting my next delivery job. Didn't realise the scale of it all until I dropped back to the office later that afternoon and found the radio control guys sitting paralyzed in front of the TV screens..

Demand for courier services in City of London dropped through the floor virtually overnight following the incident, and it was impossible to get enough work. Luckily, two months later I was employed at GM/Vauxhall, and the rest is history. :)

I was in work with a group of contractors doing some software mods. They had a laptop with them and we watched the day unfold - terrible.

very sad and real, especially the bit near the end where the guy was on the phone when the first tower collapsed:(

Very true, Cazz had it on and it kind of grips you and makes you feel all humble like!

I think the phrase is 'it puts things into perspective' I don't want it to - I have my own perspective on life and I won't let the madmen spoil it.

I have read and watched so much on the 9/11 attacks. The ammount of footage available is incredible, and makes it so much more real for ourselves. My mum was flying in to New York that morning, but an hour away from landing she was diverted because of the first attack. She then spent 7 days (of which the first 24hrs were on the downed plane) sleeping on a school gymnasium floor.

It just doesn't seem a real event still. And having visited ground zero, I still can not believe in my own mind how it happened (and I have a very imaginative head!) So many innocent people hurt from that day and everyday since around the world. Very much like scott, I saw it as the begining of the end - in terms of the world starting to reclaim what is being ruined back because the mojority of people treat it like crap. Perhaps the mayans are correct with the end of their calender come 2011, its the only prediction I have believed!

I'm still not certain that the conspiracy theorists are not correct with their various theories - but I really struggle to believe that anyone would do this act to their own people.

Rant over! - back to being excited about fontaines test drive on sunday!
