After a very long and hard decision I've decided to sell my beloved camper. It's taken me a while, I'm gutted but it just isn't big enough for my adventures. Firstly I want to thank the Commer van fan forum, without all of the help I probably wouldn't of got this far. I've done what I set out to do, restored an old commer......I will miss my van.
My Commer is a 1967 Haylett Olympian which I purchased in October 2011, I've been told that the windows are quite rare. I'm posting on here first so that someone off the commer forum can buy my van if they want to. The van comes with 12 months mot and has been well looked after. This will be a great opportunity for someone to purchase a well maintained classic vehicle. The van is tax exempt, and cost me £60 a year to insure with breakdown cover. It's got a 1725 rootes petrol engine with overdrive. Inside the sleeping area is the pop up roof, a fridge which can run off the battery while moving and then off gas when parked up, a grill and a hob, a sink with a water pump(you fill the water tank up from the outside), a table, two seats that convert into a bed to sleep on, lovely old round lights, and a leisure battery. Ifs there's anything else I think of I'll add some more details. Gas bottle not included.
These are things I've done to the van since I purchased it.
New wipers,
New windscreen rubber,
New front and rear gear linkages,
Serviced twice, first one was a full service and the second was oil and filter service,
New carburettor kit,
Cleaned the petrol filter and put a copper fuel line in,
New cupboards in the interior,
New curtains and upolstery for the seat covers,
Replaced the plastic windows in the pop up roof,
Re painted the whole van in its original colours,
Greased the nipples twice a year since I've had the van,
New front slave cylinders and lubricated the rear ones,
New vynal flooring in the back,
New gear box and diff oil,
Put a stero in which is included,
New fan belt,
New temperature gauge fitted,
New leisure battery,
New switch so the fridge can be charged when your travelling,
New material for a small part of the pop up roof,
New bobbin for the exhaust bracket,
New table, although I've still got the old one if you'd prefer that one.
My van has done just over 25,500 miles which is extremely low, I am looking for sensible offers in the region of £8995 . If you've got any questions please pm he as I haven't got a mobile. Anyone interested is more than welcome to come and view, we'll arrange it all first. I'm collecting the van from its mot later on today or Monday.
