A new bed set up

I am trying to adapt the current table set up which forms a double bed God overnight sleeping arrangements and to replace the table with a larger Base giving an extended sleeping area.
In my day....there were metal brackets which attached to a table or wood, which could be pushed down into a fixed supporting position which had 2 round rubber balls which sat on the floor and protected the lino. Now I can't find any of these!!
What have you all used to support the table/bed arrangement please? Pics if possible thanks

Do you mean you are going to use a piece of wood to fit where the table goes but make it longer so it extends past the cupboards? I think that's what you mean so you could fit a hinged flap to support the end, probably would be a good idea to hinge the main bit in the middle as well so it will fold up for storage, otherwise your going to have trouble finding somewhere to put it when it's not in use:(

Yes that's exactly the plan. Im gonna run a 6ft board from the current place between the bench seats to the back of the van, with a hinged section at 3ft as this will still fit in area behind bench seats for storage but conscious I need to support the wood insert in periodic places. Cannot find old style support system I am thinking of .....but could be a plan for trip later in year or.....I leave him indoors at home and have a bed to myself.... smart!!

You could make your six foot board, or maybe even a bit longer, and slide it in where the table goes now so it only overhangs into the kitchen part and you will be left with some space by the doors to get you pajamas on. That way you would only need to support the end of the extended bit and make the bed up as normal with a few extra cushions for the extension, if you see what I mean.
Or are you making a big single bed for him in doors

Ahh your right. I was thinking I needed to support the whole thing but that support is already there, I just need to support the overhang. Your right. in that case I will raid dad's garage for some wooden wedged snd hinges and that should do it. Well done you only took me 4 years!!

the other option would be to use a pair of wooden legs that fold in exactly the same way as Panky suggested but it will give better access to the space underneath (that's where all my crap goes when I make the bed)
