9 types of the commer camper

Brilliant Mark, thank you. My first commer in about 1967 was a Dormobile. It was eight years old when we bought it, but I don't remember it being called a Coaster. It had that roof style. The front seats were original Commer as they were not needed for the beds, and I remember that there were four upright seats in the back, which all folded down to make two single beds. I never worked out to make it double. The seats slid out from the sides, but did not meet in the middle. The two dumpy gas bottles lived in two separate trap-doors in the floor. There were two narrow stretcher bunks in the roof.Does all this ring any bells for anyone else? I keep looking for pics of both the Dormobile and the Sunquest coachbuilt, but keep getting side-tracked by photos that bring back other memories!
 
excellent - where did you find this gem? hadn't seen the Holdsworth or Sorento anywhere before :)

Anything received will be going on archive ASAP for the enjoyment of one and all;)- got some scanning to do as well next rainy evening we get as have some more adverts and brochures in paper form - but far too nice this evening to sit by computer for too long - not with a Commer van to go out and enjoy it with :D.

Studio, thanks for that, but none of them are like my interior was. The kitchen on mine was on both sides at the back, it had a "suicide" side door, and four seats which converted to beds, with two bunks in the roof.With the seats dropped into the bed position, you could carry eleven passengers, four each side and three in the cab (inc driver. It was a very early van, as it did not not have a grille in the front panel. I worked as an apprentice in a Rootes dealer from 1958-1961, and remember the first of these Commers in our showroom.The reg number of my first van was YDW 183 or maybe 5, which dates it to 1959, I think.Does it still exist, I wonder.
