73 PB Deluxe Autosleeper tax and test!

Have decided it's time for it to move on...Me and the girlfriend bought this off ebay early last year on a whim and then in a drunken pub conversation agreed to having it ready to travel round Ireland with some friends in July! We managed it and it did 1000 miles faultlessly. It has since been to wales a couple of times and also on local runs...it is totally 'on the button'

We are selling mainly because we don't have the time to use it enough and need more time to finish other projects.

Safe to say it's had lots of work done on account of it having been off the road for some years prior to our ownership. We found some odd articles inside when we got it, including a tin whistle and wierd burners and things...travelling folk, who knows??!

Anyway work done:

*Carbon monoxide alarm*2x jacks with wheel brace and good spare wheel

Other Spares

Hoses, cupboard doors, extra cupboard door trim, origional cupboard handles, offcuts of flooring, surplus door seals, Paint, hillman hunter w/shop manual

Bad bits

*Aerial cable needs end fitting - supplied

*Doors not so good - see photos!

*Mark on table (circled)

*Worktop edging burnt by cooker needs some metal edging!

*Passenger seat rip

*Pass quarter light is perpex because the vicar who's carpark it was left on broke it it to gain entry!

*The body on this van is good and MOT worthy - however the 'hood' above the screen is in need of repair and there are several areas that require sorting as you can see in the photos!

*The paint is pretty damn rough - It was done in a hurry with a large brush and a roller just to make it kinda presentable! As it is high build primer it needs sanding and a coat of paint, i was going to go for satin black!

Overall PLEASE don't come and expect a mint van externally - yes we know it's dented, we know it's not got the flutes where it should, we know the primer's rough and that it's not totally origianl -BUT IT IS solid an it's on the road ready to go!! One more still alive eh!!?

We've done the hard bit so enjoy as is or spend a bit of time to tidy up and paint, whatever...???! Pack your bags and go somewhere!

Surely though, if it were still available we would have seen it for sale again?
Would be ideal though...

Hmmm, I haven't seen it on e-bay at all and i'm always checking for vans to crop up. Unless it sold privately? Fingers crossed though still.

DUKE!

I thought it was this one ?
1973 Commer PB. Standard conversion. MOT expires October 2009. Vehicle will be sold with 6 months tax. owned by a Northern Ireland policeman for many years who kept the vehicle in very good condition. I bought Beatrice six years ago and have done some work (see below) but time and other camper are taking priority. Beatrice has done no more than 500 miles in my ownership and has always been dry stored in a purpose built caravan storage facility. Complete engine rebuilt in 2000. Clutch replaced when I bought the vehicle. Gearbox fine. Brakes recently serviced for MOT test- they do need using. Inclined to stick if left too long. Reliable starter. Full respray 5 years ago so no obvious rust. Previous owner Wax Oiled throughout so chassis is in....

Haven't heard anymore about pixies van, shame it needs so much bodywork. It would be a cracking van with the body done up.
kjh;)

It's very likely that Pixie's van is still outside her house not getting the attention it needs before it's too late [V]
