Hi Billbay,
Really enjoyed your posting, great to hear from you. Van looks like a good'un and in very capable hands judging by your previous projects:p:p:p
Looks like you did well on the parts haul too, hopefully there are some good examples of paint schemes dotted around on forum to help with colour scheme. Look forward to hearing more [8D]

Gidday StudioCommer
thanks for the Comments
Perth is the worlds most remote community we are two thousand miles from our nearest capitol City
to find a Commer period is a feat
but to find a stash of parts hidden for thirty years from one of my clients is probably lotto odds
I am going to do it in Maroon deep base
and off white
here is the first coat internally

I reconditioned the water pump with some of the new parts
and will have it running toomorrow

Thanks Billbay, maroon sure looks good:D

And I thought I was remote! am based in rural West Wales so would be interested to know where yourself & Mrs Billbay had ancestors.

Blue & white sounds good to me (but it is possible I have terrible taste;)) - will Lord Fred be keeping the roo bars? am guessing they are pretty important but have found it is very rare Bessie going fast enough to catch up with our wildlife here - I've had butterflies and insects survive impact with the front of the van[:0]:D

Hi Studio Commer:D
The Roobar is a definate "GONE"[V][V][V][V][V][V]
why would you ruin such a beautiful shape Van
our Family is from mid Wales Brecon Im not sure if thats the way it is spelt
however we were due to come to Wales two years ago and some loser ran into my Car and did my lower back in [B)][:(!]
I have a permanent knumb left leg from the shin down and a touchy 4th5th lumbar so lifting is not on the menu
and all he got was $1500.00 dollar fine
believe it or not I was fined $1500.00 dollars for having a speed radar detector in my car
the Laws a funny thing put a guy out of work for 4 months wreck his car spoil a longtime planned holiday and get equal punishment driving drunk
Anyhow
I couldnt fly however we were insured and got the money back
and plan to come in around two years
the trip was to take in Wales ireland France Spain switzerland scotland and England
still got tears in my eyes thinking about 8 weeks stuffed up by a drunk:(
I suppose you have got losers over there as well Unfortunately
I think the deep base Maroon and off white will look reasoably good on Lord Fred
its reasonably dignified and matches his character I think
I did a mock up it looks pretty crappy because I scrounged some cheap software from somewhere and sort of gives you an idea
Im embarrased putting it up
I couldnt transfer the photo so I had to take a picture of a picture hence the light

the aluminium strips came out red for some reason anyway thats how it came out
thanks for the interest shown It is appreciated

Sorry to hear of problems with drunken idiot:( - things seem very unfair here too sometimes, the police put in a huge amount of effort to catch dangerous people but then they seem to get very easy sentences - definitely not right[:(!]. Hope you get the chance to get here soon - perhaps time it to catch up with forum gathering somewhere?;)

I do know Brecon, don't get over there often but is very nice - probably counts as being on our doorstep by your standards but slightly too far to make it regular spot for Bessie. Mum & Dad used to play at the Jazz festival there in August.

Colour testing looks good - have this thread by admin using similar technique on autosleeper, found it useful when considering two-toning mine.

Greetings Will.

I like your suggested colour sceme of maroon and white, it suits the age and style of the van. The blue looks good too, but over here could get mistaken for an ice cream van!

Have you seen Daza's Roadranger in green http://links.pictures.aol.com/pic/e670pXZl6MGsLzi0CP1E*9rst26wYD26*zgpv4xQp5Fd3Ig=_l.jpg

Good luck with your project, looks like you are already making swift progress.

Regards, Chris.

Hi studiocommer
Now you have thrown a Spaniard in the Works
Lyn Wants Purple or pink and I like them all except orange
maybe a rethink :I:p:)
good work on the colours
I will have to get some decent software

thaks a lot for that
Will and Lyn

Gidday Renaultvation
I like the green
but Lyn is not a green person
she likes purpl and pink can you believe that
might have to put the colours in a barrel and take a draw
thanks for the post :D:)

That looks very close to your original colour scheme Will. It does look rather smart [^]

'Harvey the RV'

I quite fancy that for Harvey, I think the idea smoke grey might be a bit too ambitious, trouble it the buses up the road in St Helens wher I work have that colour scheme. I can just hear the comments; move along the bus please, room for one more on top, tickets please :I

'Harvey the RV'

Hi guys as much as I like the Idea of the Maroon a white /Cream
after much thought I decided to keep it light blue and white as was the original blue Colour out of the factory
I am doing the White and maroon internal with Maroon matress lounge and seat covers
Why ?
Bluebird factory name I guess
I dont know
I think because there is very few of these in Australia keeping it original would be good if we go to any shows or car rallys so people can see an original (exterior)
The original coats are baked on and cracked heaps of sanding filling spray on putty sand down start again but all worth it for the end result
