Hi all,
I finished painting the Commer, and am trying to make it run proper.
In the past (not many mile put on by me) to move it I have pulled out the choke to full rich adn that is the only way it will move, other wise it chokes and sputters and looses power.
I have had the carb out and cleaned it. It ran the same.
I looked at it again tonight and noticed it was missing it's air corrector on the top of the main spayer. I fitted one from another kind of carb, and made a wild guess at the size needed to richen the system up enough (140), and it still coughs... So I went even smaller to 80, and it still coughs.
I guess I need the base jet settings to figure it out. This is one of the early solex carbs that has a 32 choke tube in it. It has a 120 main jet... What size air corrector?
Another strange thing about this carb is its accelerator pump design... No linkage to the throttle linkage... Some how interal.. boggle my mind... Almost acts as if it isn't working either...
Another option is just flop another carb on it and be done, and considering the condition of this one, It may be a better path.
Thanks,
Al
