'Spacequest' by Thomas Hosking of Cardiff

This was at Croeslan show last week, lovely owner with collection of Rootes tasties:p

This was converted by Jennings of Cardiff and is one of 2 ever built, the other one has gone to America. Apologies because I went back to get some pics of the interior, but missed him 'cos he had to catch a tug from a tractor to get out of the field so left early.

Has a Perkins diesel engine which is apparently very painfully slow on hills - was down to a steady 20mph for the climb up to Llandysul. The plus side was a very healthy 35mpg.

Has been brush painted by previous owner every year and up until now has never been welded - will be passing on Woolfys details as needs a new front valance, but otherwise in beautiful condition[^]

Kes, that is a 'Spacequest' by Thomas Hosking of Cardiff, not a Jennings! As you say, very rare, they usually built them on the MKI Transit.:)

Thanks Martin, will be writing to the owner this week so will let him know - he'll be delighted to know as much about it as possible, if you have any background info on it that would be marvelous :)

It was nice to have that confirmed I didn't think it looked like a Jennings [8D]It looks very interesting though :p

Thanks Martin, will be wonderful - I know owner is hoping to join Classic Camper Club so will post info with his application form:)

When owner had said about being a Jennings I'd wondered if there had been more than one branch/conversion style as thought it was different to ones I'd seen before. I must have been hanging around here too long, I'm starting to recognise the conversions and I see modern campers and go 'oooh, a C.I.' or 'look, it's a suntor' (Glyn usually sighs and rolls his eyes at this:D
