I would drill through the flange and plug weld through every inch or so along the long bit (less chance of it warping, a bit more along the side.

I always seam weld them on, never had any problems with distortion. Start from the door side, hook it inside the gutter, then tack it all the way round, pulling it to shape as you go ;)

You're all correct;) i must say, if anybody is unsure of their taxation class get in touch with Mike Worthington Williams. His email details are on here. He was brilliant and very quick to get it sorted. I'm chuffed to bits obviously to find out she's exempt of the dreaded tax(Our wee household pays enough of that as do all of yours i bet)
Not long to go now until the M.O.T So it's kind of a last big push to get the main things sorted and then we can relax on the small stuff like beautifiying etc;)
 
I'm not exactly sure Mark but i do know that there were almost 400 vans in front of mine. I guess i will send away for my new v5 and it may show on that?
 
They may refund the previous owner, they have before :)
