Sal and me bumped into 'Betty' whilst out walking in the Forge valley in Yorkshire the other week
.
Betty appeared in rather nice nick and as you can see she's a very unusual Dodge given her apparent 'youth' combined with the older Commer face - the plastic SpaceVan look came about I believe in 1977 whereas X reg dates from 1981/82. Can only assume she sat around for ages either unsold or at the converters.
We chatted briefly to the mother and her son who were embarking on a touring holiday in Betty, having not had her long. So respect is due
. I'm afraid I was too stunned to see a Commer admidst the plethora of VWs seen on our trip that I now don't remember the owner's name (just the van's [:0]). However we did make them aware of this fab website we have here, as they weren't aware - hopefully we'll hear from them soon.
