Whilst painting it, It appears that it left the factory in the beige/brown primer with all the windows and handles fitted. It must have then been painted at the Maidstone factory with them still on[:0]There was no colour coat under the handles or screen rubbers. I wonder if all Maidstones were like this[?]

It looks just as good in the flesh.

I sorted my garage into 4 piles of stuff.
1. Stuff I`m keeping
2. Stuff I`m not getting rid of.
3. Stuff I might use..one day.
4. Stuff that might come in handy.

Well, it's finally left for it's new home, after a delayed start due to dicky indicators, they set off for home at 5pm:I

Someone on Facebook just bought a Commer, took him 3 days and 2 nights to do 188 miles :I

A wonderful drive home. Once I was informed by the car following me that my version of 50mph was their version of 45mph... I sped up a little, able to sit comfortably at about 52mph, and made the 150mph (three hours on a website direction tool) in about five hours, including two good stops and some admiring comments in the dark.

Martin (and Richard) did an amazing job getting us "on the road" yesterday, and Karen's curtains and cushions were a wonderful surprise - no need to get my (mother's) sewing machine out...

I'll follow up some more in the next day or two, and some more pictures at the weekend when there is better light...

But for now, it's a hello from 'Arthur' - named after my grandfather who will be laughing with great joy at my blend of crazy stupidity and utter brilliance for buying this marvellous machine.

Martin - my sincerest thanks... I smiled all the way home - and even more once I was slow enough in the villages near home to use more than just 4th gear... I hope for many exciting adventures to come.

Not sure the pink fluffy dice that my brother bought me should be allowed to adorn the rear view mirror (or side window...) - any thoughts...

A very happy, Edward and Beci.... OnTheRoadAgain...

150 mph for five hours - you covered some distance:D
When's the net trip out, bubble car museum at the weekend?:)

Panky - I have commitments this weekend - and frustratinlgy busy for the next few - so I think that we'll do a few village pubs over hte next couple of weeks and see how Arthur takes to that - but definitely in the new year - or anything in between (it has to get past the management's diary that's all...)

No comment on fluffy dice - what about yellow ducks (for scale in all good photos of course...)

Somehow the name Arthur and pink fluffy dice just don't go together:I They should be resigned to the back of a cupboard until your brother calls round when they can be hastily re-draped. Ducks are good, cunningly half hidden around the interior for the surprise of guests:)

That's amazing, I love the colour. I particularly like the seating arrangement, well done on getting home. O hoe you really enjoy her.
