Existance of a switch is immaterial, if a fog light is required it must be fitted and operational. If not required you don't need one. If not required but you have one anyway it must be operational.

I haven't took it for an MOT yet! I need to sort out the Fog light! She will be going for MOT in the next week or two Seeing there is some confusion with the fog light I asked them at the garage again a bout it! It is right what Mark said that all vehicles registered or built after the 1st of April 1980 have to have a fog light on by law! So X-Box has to have one to pass MOT! as she is a 1981 model!
Its not a problem as I got a switch off Martin M as mine was broken and a new light is a fiver from the shop. Early Dodge Spacevan haven't got a rear fog light but the later one have.
