"Marg" My Dodge Spacevan

Thanks for all the replies on the panels! I think I'd go for the metal panels to be honest, fibre Glass is okay and won't rot but am going to have a go at welding myself as I've never done it before[:0]

In the file I got with "Marg" there is a sheet of panels and prices from a company called Coventry Commer Panels is that someone on here?

Sure is mate;) the Website address is on the main Commervanfan website...Just clicky the link. It's our Woolfy.
I'm a newbie at the ole welding lark too as you probably guessed by my pics:eek:

Thanks for loading the pictures up again Jon:I Copy and paste I'll have ago but will put them on my photobucket as I have a few more from today!

Well the good news is thanks to my friend Mark we got "Marg" running today:D bad news is she's got no clutch:( I need a clutch cylinder next to the gearbox if anyone has a spare or if I can get a new one?;) Marg's is all seized.

Had to tow her out the garage so I could turn her round to put her at the back of the garage so I can start work on her! It was fun coming down the hill backwards with no mirrors and only rear brakes but we got her in okay! Have a look at the NEW pictures of her in her for now resting place in the thick of it!!!! Her engine is sweet which made my day:D Thanks again everyone one!

Alan.

Thanks Pete your welding is fine mate! You will more than likely laughing your socks off when I start. That outrigger you made is great.

I will give Martin a ring about the cylinder! Would be nice to get her to move under her own steam even being tow I love being behind the wheel! Maybe I can pop down and see you sometime mate?

All the best

Alan.

Did a bit on "Marg" today under the front valance there is something next to the horn! Looks like it should have pipes on it but seem to be broken off!:( Can anyone tell me what it is?

sounds like a missing bulbous end, your meant to sqeeze it but could be a problem !it collects water!Tim has removed the Colonels heater so I no longer have to squeeze that bulbous end,I now have a mini heater :D

Thanks Chris. I will put a picture up when I can:D So its to do with the heater? Inside the cab along the driver's side floor there is a long pipe that goes underneath to the engine, there is like a tap on it?????[:0]

Thanks for added the pictures on Jon! I have put the pictures on of the pipe inside Marg and the device underneath with the pipes cut off! Can anyone tell me what it for?;) Thanks Alan.

The tap on the floor coming from under the engine cover looks to have been added to the heater pipes that go from the engine to the matrix under the dash to turn the heater on or off ;)

Some of the early vans had a tap fitted to the top of the cylinder head on the heater take off;)

A commer with boost will be appering on a screen near you soon!

As Jon says, its a water heater tap. The one under the van is an old BMC style one, just remove it ;)
Always best to leave it on all the time, as in the summer it helps the engine cooling system :)

Yes, you just need the valve that screws into the head (we have one spare) and some new heater hose :)
