Well, I took my 1970 2500 ex-bus in for its Warrant of Fitness (NZ's equivalent of the MOT ticket), and my trusted mechanic implied the old one (on it when I bought it) was a bit generous. So the steering needed a new bush and a good fettle, four new tyres and a bit more besides. Then, when I went to pick it up, it started making a noise from the top end - another month at the mechanic's (I told him not to hurry), and it's nearly ready to pick up. I needed top & bottom radiator hoses which we improvised using a capri bottom hose and a Ford Laser top hose.
So after a couple of months, I should have it back this week! Woo hooooooo!!!!! I have a stereo ready to put into it, and hope to fit it into the panel above the windscreen; I just have to see if there's enough space behind it.
