Summer's Coming.....
Trust me

I like the thought of a useful van, however, can any of you kind peeps enlighten me on a diesel Commer (most were petrol)? Is it registered as a diesel on the V5 Fearns? Is the V5 in your name, any history (engine change maybe...if indeed it was) - passed mots etc and any chance of some more pics (eng bay, inside cab / rear of van)

Thanks for any more information you're able to give - much appreciated [8D]

They did actually make a diesel version of the commer/dodge so you will prob find its genuine diesel. It was a 1.75litre 52bhp diesel the overdrive gearbox was an optional extra when ordered on either the diesel and petrol.
For the asking price looking at the pics, I would say this is a bargain and if I didnt have a panel van already i would be going to buy this one. Looks to need a bit of work round the flutes but dont they all;)

A commer with boost will be appering on a screen near you soon!

Thanks guys for your replies - yes, I had a perkins lump in a Land Rover once..... used to blow smoke rings and probably came out of a tractor - noisy as anything but made you laugh driving it.... until it went bang! Essex V6 fitted nicely though...although mpg not so good after that ;)

Did a spot of research - V5 says it's a petrol, so a change somewhere in it's life.... or wrong all along! If only it was closer I'd have a look for sure!

Emailed the county-council....and had a reply [8)] they're looking into some pot-holes for me - well worth it if it saves our transportation contraptions!

Spaceman has a spacevan! viewed this van today and done a deal :) 400 mile round trip! but well worth it....picking it up this week!

Yeah very happy, got a load of spares with it too! plans are to slam it and fit a nice camping interior, the chap I have bought it off has owned it for 21 years and is a mechanic so it's been well looked after, It's wide enough to fit a double bed in!

Well done, I saw Allan last week at Newark with the van, he was trying to get me to buy a diesel to fit to Brian[}:)][^]

Going to see how it goes with the diesel, went out for a long ride in it and it seemed to pull really well, having the over drive is a real bonus too and 40 to the gallon!

Yeah def worth the wait, just trying to get a few ideas down on paper of what I am going to do with it, always had vw's before so the commer world is all new to me! Ive got all of the Genuine metal flutes for both sides, rear quarters, so I may tackle these first, want to paint it then, any ideas for coulour schemes?
