Haha - yep, that's me on a test drive. I hadn't mastered the gear change so you can hear a nice crunching noise . . .sorry!:I

The body work is good but has several layers of paint - think it used to be blue. Still, has heaps of character.

I still do not have her sitting in the driveway :( It flew through MOT on Monday EXCEPT that tyre regulations have changed. So, 4 perfectly good tyres replaced with 4 new regulation standard tyres, £195 and another MOT test later, and she's road legal [^]. I'm also assuming the brake-light has now been repaired too.

She'll be sitting at my door any day now . . .think I've also decided she's a girl.

I have no idea! something to do with thicker rubber I think???

MOT regulations in NI are slightly different from the rest of the UK - for what reason I do not know!

It's worth mentioning at this stage that what I know about commers, campers and perhaps vehicles in general can be written on the back of a postage stamp . . .with room for an illustration!!

Different system in NI. All MOT stations are government run, like the HGV test stations over here. More stringent test, but you don't get failures for work not required, like some unscrupulous garages over here. Another draw back, is there is sometimes long waiting lists.

From the sound of it my guess would be they were standard care tyres and the stricter rules require re-enforced van tyres like on a car trailer to cope with the extra weight? Just a thought.

Bloody hell, I havent been here in a while cos i have recently been busy starting up a vw restoration and hire company ...... in Northern Ireland ..... dont hate me! ( my heart is with the commers but vw`s sell better )
If you "EVER" want to sell, i will take her off you anytime you want.

And i may "plug" ......... www.dunrunnin.com ....... lol

Wow a fellow Northern Irelander :D Love the website and love Suzie - she looks beautiful! :) I've nothing against VWs I just love commers! It's my boyfriend that's set up the vw campervan rental company and his heart firmly lies with the german manufacturer. Good luck with the restoration and rental company and perhaps we can send business in each other's direction when bookings fill up[?]

As for selling my little Lola . . .hmmmm, come back to me in ten years time ;) I've had her for one whole day and I absolutely love her to bits and, to be brutally honest, she's the bargain of the decade! Great to 'meet' you and all the best.

Hey, funny that cos i came across your site yesterday but through other means ......lol
Didnt realise you were one and the same, would love a commer for myself as my dad had one when i was younger. Been running for a year now but decided to sell "suzie" and concentrate on building from scratch, " sandie " is under full refurb at minute.
Is your hubby doing all his own work? If not, then give us a shout, doing everything here now ..... i am just the brains.....lol

May just have to call up and check out the competition ..... will we get coffee??

my number is 07966798155 if you ever need anything or if you are in enniskillen ............please bring lola here for a run!!!

cheers

bazza

Yeah, after I made that comment I had a closer look at your website and saw that Suzie has been sold but Charlie looks fantastic! Good luck with the refurb on Sandie - you must have some operation down there in Enniskillen and will definitely bring Lola down for a run some time . . and a wee nosey! I'm from Omagh myself but living in Donaghcloney now. My dad was telling me how the Model Bakery in Omagh used Commer delivery vans - unfortunately I don't remember them first time round.
I had a wee look through your refurb photos on Facebook - great work, keep the photos coming. Rentadonkey is going through the same process at the moment - you're more than welcome for coffee and a nosey once they're up and running - I'll even give you some buns!

All the best!

Lisa
