1974 Highwayman

Thanks for all your replies, all good ideas, anyone care to comment on drilling drain holes???

I bought some of the galzing film from Tescos (reduced to 75p at the moment!!), and will put this on at the weekend.

Re: the over cab bed. I am 6'4" and I was able to have a wee nap in it on Saturday afternoon comfortably, Tanya was sleeping on the sofa bed. It would be a bit cramped for two but great for kids...

Dear all,

yesterday we said goodbye to our beloved Highwayman. Three children and two adults was a struggle to fit too far and we have been forced to buy a bigger van. She's gone to a good home but we will miss her very much.

Just wanted to say a very big thank you to all the Commervanfan Community for the help, advice, support and laughs we've had through this mighty fine Forum. A special thanks to Martin Maltas who helped me through some tough technical situations over the last few years.

Time for a new adventure...

What a hard decision that must have been but one that had to be made for all the right reasons. Thank you for all the great pics you posted of your adventures, one in particular of you unique in-car entertaiment will always stick with me[8D] But just because you haven't got a Commer doesn't mean you have to go away forever, please let us know how you get on with your new van - pics would be great. I hope the lucky new owner of that very special van will do the same.

Thanks guys. We had a lot of fun, that trip above was perhaps one of the best, Mull is a very special place.

Still have the Clarsaich.

New camper is a modern Motorhome, much bigger, lots more gadgets but a good deal less character, more's the the pity!

Enigma,

we now have three children, 3 yr old and 10 month twins. All the related paraphernalia together with towing the old car just meant it was a very stressful drive and then cramped stay.
 
You gave me inspiration ,I have thought of towing my motorbike on trips but have tought the trailer combo would be to much for the commer ,but I if you can tow a car I can tow a B S A Bantham
 
I towed a Commer Autosleeper with my Commer Highwayman at the 1st Welsh Commer Weekend!
