1974 Commer for sale - Bonnie Custard

We have owned Bonnie since 2011 as part of our business The Glampervan Hire Company, which we closed in 2017, she was for sale at the time, but we then decided to keep her for personal use. We have since done some engine work to her and intended on doing some restoration work to her bodywork but with our new campsite business we haven't had the time and we don't use her enough, so have decided to sell.

The bodywork required is mainly to her cab doors and will potentially need the lower half replaced or re-skinned. Some other less major points on her lower chassis may need addressed, but overall the body is solid. Her engine and gearbox are strong and her interior is good with a lot of restoration work having been done over the 10 years we have owned her. She passed an MOT in March 2019 and has done very little mileage since.

She has a cooker with grill, gas fridge, sink, heater, electric hook up and split charge system, wardrobe and lots of cupboard space. There are 5 seats with seatbelts (3 front and 2 rear), bench seats and table convert into a double bed, single bunk for a child in pop up roof and front cab seats fold into a cab bed.

Would like £6500

I can provide more detailed information and images showing areas that require work on request and happy to meet for viewings for serious interest.

Hi and welcome to our forum. It's a shame you can't use Bonnie Custard as you hoped but I'm sure someone else will enjoy her to the full. Good luck with the sale and please tell us more about you new campsite business, you never know you might end up with a gaggle of Commers knocking on the door :)

Thank you! We've had the campsite Fallow Fields Camping near Sandwich in Kent since 2016 and we're about to open a second one in the spring near Dymchurch. Sadly we currently aren't allowed campers at the new site, but we would love a gaggle of Commers to visit us in Sandwich - we get lots of VWs, but rarely see a Commer!

Just had a peek at your website and the campsite looks awesome. So many places are regimented to the point of OCD but your place looks wonderfully chilled. It's a bit far for us to come for a weekend but if we're ever down that way expect a visit:cool:

Thanks, we learnt a lot during hiring the campervans and there just weren't enough places for people to go that we could really recommend so we decided to do it ourselves and easier than looking after vintage campers!
