1973 Commer CI Autohome For Sale

Hi, I'm selling my Autohome that I've owned for the last 18yrs or so . It is tax exempt and at the moment is not moted it failed on a few minor things last year (with no welding needed) I sorted out the faults but unfortunately as I was testing the brakes and handbrake before the retest the handbrake cable snapped! and I have not got round to doing it since. The van has had many new parts over the last few years including a weber carb, electric fuel pump , new distributor and water pump. It would be fairly straightforward with a few days work to get back on the road to use as a rolling restoration it is a bit scruffy in the usual places bottom of doors etc but has had a lot of welding done on the cab sills. the engine does run and starts easily however there are a couple of things that need doing one is a broken bolt is stopping the new water pump from sealing properly and the other is a misfire which my best guess at the moment is down to an air leak between the cylinder head and the manifold. I have got lots of spares that can go with it if required including an overdrive gearbox. I can send some pictures to anyone interested . I'm not really sure about price but was thinking of around £850. for more information give me a ring on 01453 763368. The van is located in Milton Keynes

Hi Steve and welcome to the Madhouse:D
It's a shame you're selling after owning the van for so long but your loss will be someone else's gain, another lucky owner will continue the cycle and make new memories:)

shame to have to sell.. Any pics, always help to sell something and may help someone to help price it better. An od gearbox itself should be worth £200 ish if in good nic

My van is now sold. Thanks for all of your comments, it is a very reluctant sale, ocassionally ownership has been challanging and frustrating! but most of the time its been the most fun, characterfull and talked about vehicle Ive owned. However thanks to my advert on this forum Im confident its going to a great new home.

That's great news, a quick sale (albeit reluctant) for you and a new custodian who will take it to the next stage:)
Anyone we know?
