Hi all,
Thought I’d share this here as I know how hard it’s getting to find decent Commers, especially ones that are solid where it matters.
I’ve just listed my 1972 Commer PB Highwayman on a 1 day no reserve auction starting at £995 (live now) as I need the space back this week.
The main reason I bought it originally was the condition underneath — as most of you will know, that’s usually the biggest issue with these, but this one is genuinely very good structurally and a strong base.
It’s had around £2,000–£3,000 spent mechanically, including:
It has run and driven, but currently has a fuel pickup issue from the tank, so it’s not starting at the moment. Looks to be debris in the tank affecting the pickup, so likely a clean/repair job rather than anything major.
Interior has had historic water ingress, so will need refurbishing — ideal if you’re planning your own layout or conversion anyway.
Overall, it’s a proper project, but a very solid starting point compared to most I’ve seen.
Lincolnshire
Will need trailer / transport
If anyone’s interested, feel free to message me and I’ll send the eBay link

It’s had around £2,000–£3,000 spent mechanically, including:
- Full ignition system
- Radiator re-cored + thermostat
- Fuel system work and original pump refitted
- Electrics tidied (engine bay & underside)
- New brake shoes all round
- New wheel cylinders + front master cylinder
- Exhaust adjusted
