I'm really looking forward to seeing your project. Are you keeping it "Ambulance", or making it "Camper" (as in....like a camper van rather than making it more camp, if you see what I mean);)

Cool. That will make it quite interesting at shows etc as I imagine most would be turned to campers?

Yeah I get that ... Campers are relatively 10 a penny so keeping the ambulance that is keeping something very special and individual of yesteryear. So are you thinking just shows and things or I guess technically it could still double up as a surf van if needs be?

Sure. If the floor was like a wetroom floor it would be easier to sweep sand etc out. Would also stop salt water getting into metal etc. I’ve never seen an ambulance so don’t know how easy to empty ‘props’ out the back. Maybe even make removeable cupboard, hob, sink unit to use as a day camper??

Yeah maybe a George Clarke's amazing spaces type thing? I'm trying to weigh something up like that for my PB with Suicide door but rear doors obstructed by kitchen.... want to be able to access all doors in future .... no euphemisms intended :)

Looks like a really exciting project. I would love to see some photos of the interior whenever possible.

It’s staying as an ambulance guys 100%, it’s such a one off vehicle it would be a shame to convert it..

Not had much time at all to do anything lately what with one thing and another, but we have removed engine and cleaned the 50 odd years of grime off it, and started to strip it.

Also the new panels have arrived thanks to Martin, the rot has started to be chopped out and panels offered up, not much further than that though as of yet.

Not a lot been happening of late, had to move ambulance to a new home and set up, it’s not dead and forgotten though, Engine is with an engine rebuilder and rest of welding will be full steam ahead soon.
